This listing is for 3 antique British Army medals, a 1914-1918 George V First World War medal, a 1919 India General Service Medal and a 1939-1945 Defence medal
Included with the medals are photographs of Private Albert Milne along with demobilization papers and a First World War certificate of employment showing his conduct and service as a Lewis Gunner in the Border Regiment
The two photographs show Private Milne in full uniform in the form of a black and white postcard and in the second photograph there is a 'X' written in black ink above Private Milne whilst standing in line on parade and this is also black and white
In the papers it shows Private Albert Milne served as a Lewis Gunner from 10/5/1916 to 7/1/1920 and the papers compliment the medals and are included
The first item is a 1939 to 1945 Defence Medal with ribbon attached
No name is engraved on the edge and the medal us used but overall is in very good condition with only slight wear visible to the edge of the ribbon attached
The medal measures 5cm x 3.5cm x 3mm (thick)
The second item is a 1914-1918 George V First World War medal
This medal is used and overall shows signs of ageing and wear which can be seen in detail in the pictures listed
On the edge is engraved 202056 Pte A.Milne 2-4 Bord R (Border Regiment) and the medal measures 4.8cm x 3.5cm x 3mm (thick)
The medal comes with a ribbon attached and is affixed to a metal bar which holds the third and final medal
The third item is a 1919 India General Service campaign medal which was awarded to Pte A.Milne for service in Afghanistan N.W.F (North-Western Frontier) and this can be seen in the clasp holding the ribbon
This medal measures 6cm x 3.5cm x 3mm (thick) and on the edge of the medal is engraved 202056 Pte A.Milne 2-4 Bord R (Border Regiment)
This medal also comes with a ribbon attached and is also affixed to the same metal bar as the George V medal
The metal bar has a pin on the rear to allow it to be worn and the pin measures 5cm in length
All 3 medals are very rare and collectible and come inside a small velvet coloured case as shown in the listing pictures
