This appears to have been converted from a lug mounting, as there are traces of 4 lugs on the reverse as well as heavy soldering of the slide mount. There is whitish crud and verdigris on the reverse. Please examine the picture carefully as it is the exact item that you are purchasing.

    Original regimental badge for Coldstream Guards. Die struck, with very nice detail. Measures approximately 3" x 4". Moderate to heavy wear. The gilt remains in the recesses but is entirely worn from every place except the recesses. Large dent in the central cross (diagonal across the left arm). This appears to have been converted from a lug mounting, as there are traces of 4 lugs on the reverse as well as heavy soldering of the slide mount.
