    WW1 Medal Trio to 24th Battalion (Victoria Rifles) Discharged Unfit / Wounded
    All named to: 65299 L/Sjt. / Sjt. R. Dyke, 24 Can. Inf.
    Russell Dyke was from Montreal, Occ. Clerk. Attested Nov. 3rd 1914, he had 3.5 years in the Highland Cadets. Promoted to Lance-Sergeant September 1915, Sergeant Feb. 1916. He was wounded in the right leg by shrapnel on September 17th, 1916 at Courcelette and was discharged subsequently, medically unfit. He subsequently died in 1960.
